The influence of cosmological factors on the geothermal process in the interior of the Yangantau mountain

Khuramshin I.S.

Abstract

Our studies have demonstrated gradual depression of the temperature regime of geothermal process in the interior of the Yangantau mountain at a rate of 0.5 - 1.0 degrees per year. This process is a result of a rare combination of geographic, climatic, and geochemical conditions giving rise to a thermodynamic system in the form of a natural reactor. This system is characterized by highly effective thermolysis of the organic mass contained in bituminiferous shales with the production of the thermal gas-vapour mixture that serves as the main therapeutic factor utilized at the Yangan-Tau health resort. However, the limited resources of bituminiferous shales in the interior of the Yangantau mountain tend to be exhausted. Therefore, they need to be replenished with the products of bituminiferous shale thermolysis from other locations if the geothermal process in the interior of the Yangantau mountain to be prolonged.

Simutis I.S., Boyarinov G.A., Mukhin A.S., Prilukov D.B., Deryugina A.V.

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to develop the method for pre-transfusion rehabilitation of conserved erythrocytes with the use of an ozonated 0.9% NaCl solution and to estimate the effectiveness of their application in the patients suffering from the loss of blood of ulcerative etiology. This paper reports the experimental data obtained during the development of the optimal method for the pre-transfusion treatment of the erythrocytes conserved with the use of ozonoted physiological solution. Moreover, the results of their clinical application are reported based on the treatment of 63 patients presenting with non-varicose gastrointestinal hemorrhage hospitalized in the state of grade III hemorrhagic shock. It was shown that the preliminary treatment of the erythrocytes with ozonated physiological solution improves the results of transfusion therapy of hemorrhagic shock due to the reduction of the severity of tissue hypoxia and activity of pro-oxidative processes with the simultaneous stimulation of the anti-oxidative system, improvement of the parameters of systemic hemodynamics and the clinical course of the early post-hemorrhagic period.

The rationale for the application of low-frequency ultrasound in chondroitin sulfate ultraphonophoresis for the treatment of arthritis

Morozova I.L., Voichenko N.V., Ryzhkovskaya E.L., Kuznetsova T.E., Ulashchik V.S.

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to develop the method for in vitro chondroitin sulfate ultraphonophoresis based on the results of the study of low-frequency ultrasound on the structure and physicochemical properties of this chondroprotector. It was shown that the therapeutic doses of low-frequency ultrasound do not change the native properties of chondroitin sulfate which suggests the possibility of its application for ultraphonophoresis. The experiments on the model of zymosan-induced arthritis demonstrated that low-frequency ultrasound in chondroitin sulfate ultraphonophoresis not infrequently suppresses the inflammatory process, reduces articular oedema, and increases the functional activity of the synovial membrane cells without damaging chondrocytes.

The relationship between peculiarities of physiotherapy and its effectiveness in the patients presenting with chronic cholecystitis

Poddubnaya O.A.

Abstract

The development of efficacious methods for the treatment of the patients presenting with chronic cholecystitis is of special importance when this pathology occurs together with chronic opistorchosis that exerts the unfavourable influence on the functional state of the biliary system and not infrequently promotes progression of the disease. The chronobiological approach taking into account the most suitable time for the treatment with the use of the up-to-date factors of instrumental physiotherapy improves characteristics of the functional state of the gallbladder and enhances the adaptive potential of the organism. Moreover, it ensures well apparent therapeutic effect and good tolerability of the treatment.

Abstract

This article presents the results of the treatment of 36 patients at the age varying rom 20 to 75 years admitted with the diagnosis of humeroscapular periarthritis. Twelve of them were given extracorporeal shock-wave therapy, 12 others were treated with the use of 1% lidocaine electrophoresis, hydrocortisone ultraphonophoresis was applied to the shoulder joint region in another 12 patients. All the patients treated with the use of eXtracorporeal shock-wave therapy reported regression of pain syndrome during at least 6 months. Such effect was absent in both control and comparison groups. The period of remission lasted 3 months in 3 patients of the control group and 4 months in 3 patients of the comparison group.

Abstract

We have developed the method for intensive combined balneotherapy of osteoarthrosis (OA) consisting of the daily prescription of general sodium chloride baths, application of a peloid onto the region of projection of the affected joints, manual massage, and intake of a maralroot (Leuzea carthamoides) extract. The use of this medical technology was found to decrease the frequency of painful episodes in the joints by a factor of 1.7, reduction of the normal range of joint motion, and manifestations of reactive synovitis by a factor of 2.1. Moreover, it improved the functioning of the microcirculatory bed and the neuromotor apparatus of the affected extremities. The introduction of intake of the maralroot extract in the combined treatment potentiated the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects of intensive balneotherapy and promoted mobilization of compensatory and adaptive processes in the body, caused the 2.6-fold decrease in the frequency of clinical manifestations of balneoreaction, and improved tolerability of intensive (during 12-14 days) balneotherapy.

Miryutova N.F., Zaitsev A.A., Dostovalova O.V., Abdulkin N.G., Golosova O.E.

Abstract

Combined rehabilitation of the subjects presenting with muscular-skeletal disorders attributable to occupational activities associated with physical functional overexertion is based on the pathogenetically substantiated methodological approach. The application of the complex of physiotherapeutic factors possessed of neuromyostimulating and vasoactivity and potentiating the trophic and regenerative processes (viz. a pulsed magnetic field, ultrasound, therapeutic peloids) at all stages of pathogenesis of a given disease (the biomechanical situation, muscular tone and strength, trophicity of periarticular tissues) promotes the stable regression of the clinical manifestations, extends the range of motion in the affected glenohumeral joint, and thereby improves the working capacity and the quality of life of the patients.

Voitenkov V.B., Skripchenko N.V., Ivanova M.V., Pul’man N.F., Grigor’ev S.G., Klimkin A.V.

Abstract

The objective of the present study was the neurophysiological assessment, by means of diagnostic transcranial magnetic stimulation (TCMS), of the effectiveness of the application of a MotionMarker apparatus for robotic mechanotherapy (RMT) of the children with locomotor disorders of different origin. A total of 20 children presenting with locomotor disorders due to infantile cerebral paralysis, viral encephalitis, and myelitis were involved in the study. Fourteen patients were given RMT and 6 ones conventional neural rehabilitation. All of them underwent TCMS before and after the treatment. It was shown that a course of robotic mechanotherapy significantly improved conductivity of conducting pathways, enhanced the functional activity of motor neurons in the cortex and lumbar enlargement of the spinal cord. The authors hypothesize that these changes may be due to the activation of the neuroplastic processes. It is concluded that diagnostic transcranial magnetic stimulation can be recommended as a technology for the objective evaluation of the effectiveness of the rehabilitative measures.

The effectiveness of bilateral phototherapy of neonatal jaundice and the factors influencing its severity

Panina O.C., Chernenkov Y.V., Amirova I.A., Raigorodskiy Y.M.

Abstract

In the recent years, neonatal jaundice has been showing a tendency toward the protracted clinical course (hyperbilirubinemia). Up to now, there are no generally accepted criteria for the pathological nature of hyperbilirubinemia. Phototherapy is the most popular method for the treatment of this pathological condition. The present study included 173 newborn infants presenting with diagnosis of neonatal jaundice. All these patients underwent the comprehensive clinical, laboratory, and instrumental examination. They were divided into two groups. The study group (n = 125) was comprised of the children given bilateral (from top and from below) phototherapy with the use of an ATF-“Svetonyanya” apparatus. The control group contained 50 newborn infants treated by means of unilateral (only from the top) phototherapy with the help of the sane apparatus. It was shown that the main factors influencing the severity of neonatal jaundice were gestosis, maternal endocrine pathology, blood group, the low Apgar score at the first minute, and the bilirubin level in umbilical blood. The rate of reduction of bilirubinemia in the study group was 25 mcmol/l per 24 hours or higher whereas it did not exceed 15 mcmol/l per 24 hours in the control group (p < 0.05). These findings provided a basis for the withdrawal of phototherapy in all the children of the study group within 48-56 hours after its initiation while the treatment of the control children continued during 72-120 hours after the onset of phototherapy. It is concluded that bilateral phototherapy increases the rate of reduction of the indirect bilirubin level and can be prescribed to the newborn children especially to those at high risk of development of neonatal jaundice.

The estimation of the influence of the complex of physiotherapeutic rehabilitative factors on the clinical course of the postoperative period following hysterectomy in the women presenting with uterine myoma

Dugieva M.Z.

Abstract

We studied manifestations of postoperative pain in the patients who had undergone hysterectomy performed by laparotomy. The intensity of pain was evaluated from the results of subjective self-assessment with the use of the visual analog scale (VAS) and the 4-score verbal rating scale (VRS) . The treatment included laserotherapy of the thymus and pantovegin electrophoresis of the wound region or the combination of the two modalities. The combination of infrared laser irradiation of the thymic region and pantovegin electrophoresis proved to be the most effective method for the alleviation of postoperative pain. It contributed to both reduced intensity of pain sensations and their rapid disappearance. The author recommends to apply the combined method for the treatment of postoperative pain in the gynecological patients.
