BACKWARD WALKING AS A NEW TECHNIQUE FOR PHYSICAL REHABILITATION

Klemenov A.V.

Abstract

Backward locomotion (backward walking and running) is increasingly used in sports and medicine. Kinetic and kinematic analysis of backward walking showed its advantages over the usual method of movement that can be successfully used in the athletic training and for treatment and rehabilitation after various diseases. During sports training backward walking/running can be used as one of the methods of fitness to improve physical endurance. Backward walking leads to a more cardiovascular and respiratory load and a more significant aerobic and anaerobic capacity of the organism compared with forward walking at similar parameters of physical activity. Backward walking is associated with less overload on knee joints, it is also one of the few natural ways of strengthening the quadriceps. Backward walking is used to elaborate the correct pattern of gait in children with cerebral palsy, in persons with hemiplegia after stroke, in patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis, in spinal cord injured patients. Regular backward walking trainings improve spatial-temporal parameters of walking and balance, increase muscle strength of the lower limbs in these diseases. There is an information about the application of backward walking exercises in diabetic foot syndrome in order to reduce a plantar pressure and in physical rehabilitation of postoperative patients. Tests with backward walking are used for diagnostic purposes - to assess the severity of impaired coordination and motor skills in post-stroke patients and in Parkinson’s disease, to identify the minimal walking impairment in persons with multiple sclerosis and for probability of falling prediction in elderly individuals and patients with dizziness.

FUNCTIONAL AND MOLECULAR-GENETIC REACTIONS UNDER CONDITIONS OF CONDUCTING HEALTH PROGRAMS IN PERSONS WITH EXCESSIVE BODY MASS

Lysenkov S.P., Korchazhkina N.B., Tkhakushinov R.A., Tuguz A.R.

Abstract

In a study of 116 healthy and obese patients (20-63 years), authors have made an assessment of the functional and molecular genetic effects of the health program, which included caloric restriction of food up to 1,000-1,200 calories per day, or a complete rejection of food within 19-21 days, intestinal cleansing, physical exercising in the way of walking 3-7 kilometers per day, laser therapy, body massage, infrared sauna, etc., educational lectures, sessions of spiritual music. The healthy course had been accompanied by loss of total and fat mass, normalization of hemodynamic parameters, cholesterol, leptin, insulin and glucose levels, decrease in insulin- and leptin-resistance. Molecular genetic studies have shown that genotype T23525T of FTO gene is the most unfavorable genotype for residents of the North Caucasus, increasing the risk of developing obesity 2.33-4.90 times. This genotype reliably correlated with the body mass index, weight, the initial fat mass, and the hip circumference. However, the presence of this genotype did not prevent the loss of body weight and fat during the process of health improvement measures. In addition, the phenomenon of transversion of nucleotides (A → T) was detected at the corresponding site of 23525 intron mutations (rs9939609). The established effect shows the possibility of targeted effects on the human genome through health programs. The mechanisms of transversion require explanations and further studies.

DRINKING MINERAL WATER IN RESTORATIVE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME

Botvineva L.A., Kaysinova A.S., Fedorova T.E., Samsonova N.A., Vasin V.A.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of the integrated spa therapy of the metabolic syndrome (MS) with the use of drinking mineral waters (MB) of different chemical composition and mineralization, taking into account the dynamics of hormonal parameters, carbohydrate, lipid metabolism, liver function. Eighty patients with MS received a standard clinical and laboratory examination at the beginning and at the end of the course of treatment. By random sampling, two groups of 40 people were formed, each of whom received an internal intake of MB Essentuki-Novaya or Essentuki No. 4. It was established that the complex spa treatment of patients with MS and the pathology of carbohydrate metabolism in the form of impaired fasting glucose and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease with drinking MB is pathogenetically directed and includes the main means of actively affecting the well-being of patients, body weight, metabolic processes, hormonal regulatory systems and liver function, the course of concomitant diseases. The results of the study allowed us to recommend MB Essentuki-Novaya for the specified category of people as a curative and preventive agent in order to prevent further progression of carbohydrate metabolism and pathological changes in the liver.

LASER TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CORRECTION OF NONNEOPLASTIC MELANIN HYPERPIGMENTATION OF THE SKIN

Ikonnikova E.V., Korchazhkina N.V., Stenko A.G.

Abstract

The article briefly describes the modern views on the main causes of nonneoplastic melanin hyperpigmentation of the skin and also consider various types of laser and light therapy and effective combination of some methods of treatment. Under observation were 30 patients with nonneoplastic hyperpigmentation of the skin on both sides of the face (solar lentigo, ephelides, melasma, posttraumatic hyperpigmentation), skin type I-III. Patients were treated with using a neodymium laser (1064 nm) with low fluence per half of the face and an alexandrite laser (755 nm) with low fluence to the other half of the face in the same procedure. A total of 4 procedures were performed with a weekly interval. Both variants of therapy were equally effective in the treatment of nonneoplastic melanin hyperpigmentation of the skin and showed a high safety profile.

PECULIARITIES OF COMPLEX IMPACT OF ELECTRONEUROMYOSTIMULATION AND ACUPUNCTION IN LUMB-CROSS DORSOPATHY

Omochev O.G., Chililov M.A.

Abstract

The article presents the results of the evaluation of the effect of complex application of low-frequency electrotherapy and acupuncture on the condition of the lumbosacral section in 42 patients with degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the spine. Under the influence of the developed complex, the condition of patients with lumbosacral dorsopathy and hemodynamics in the lower extremities improved steadily. The effect of the combined use of low-frequency electrotherapy and reflexotherapy on the clinical course of dorsopathy is more pronounced than in traditional medicamentous treatment. It is almost the same according to the criteria for the effectiveness of treatment, but it differs by the mechanism of influence on the body.

THE EFFECT OF SELENIUM MODIFIED CARBON DIOXIDE MINERAL WATERS OF PYATIGORSK FIELD ON SOME SELENIUM DEPENDED SYSTEMS

Abramtsova A.V., Efimenko N.V., Kaysinova A.S., Polyakova L.V.

Abstract

The influence of course intake of the natural mineral water of the Pyatigorsk source, modified by selenium nanoparticles at a dosage of 40 μg/kg, on the level of thyroid hormones, insulin, cortisol and dehydroepiandrosterone, including depending on the method of drinking animals (free drinking and intragastric) was studied in rats. The histological structure of the thyroid gland during drinking with mineral water corresponded to that of healthy control animals, but in the group that received water intragastrically through the probe, the function of thyrocytes and levels of triiodothyronine and dehydroepiandrosterone in the blood were reduced. The courses of the mineral water modified by selenium nanoparticles, according to the data of multiple linear regression, contributed to the activation of the thyroid system.

COMPLEX PHYSIOTHERAPY IN CHILDREN WITH ACUTE BACTERIAL NECROTIZING PNEUMONIA

Eredjibokova M.Y., Shadrina E.M., Barova N.K., Vasilieva S.R., Radchenko N.A.

Abstract

Acute bacterial-destructive pneumonia is one of the most severe chronic inflammatory diseases of childhood, occurs in 10-15% of pneumonia in children. The effectiveness of physiotherapeutic procedures (ultrahigh frequency electric field on the inflammatory focus, magnetotherapy, electrophoresis with polymineral napkins based on natural iodide-bromine water) was evaluated in the framework of the complex treatment of pneumonia in children, which included the use of conservative and surgical methods. The early appointment of complex physiotherapy treatment improved the patients’ condition on the 3rd-4th day, thanks to the mobilization of energy resources of biological tissues, the activation of metabolic processes and the immune system of the body. The combined application of physical (permanent galvanic current) and chemical factors had an anti-inflammatory, absorbable effect, prevented the development of pleural adhesions.
