Sarapulova N.Y., Kulikov A.G., Ardatskaya M.D., Sarapulova N.Y., Kulikov A.G., Ardatskaya M.D.

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the possibility and practicability of inclusion of general magnetotherapeutic procedures in the rehabilitative treatment of patients during the early postoperative period following cholecystectomy. A total of 102 patients were available for observation within 1.5-3 weeks after surgery. Most of them presented with painful and dyspeptic syndromes, asthenoneurotic disturbances, and intestinal disorders. It was shown that general magnetotherapy alone and its combination with the intake of enterosan eliminated or significantly decreased manifestations of early postoperative syndromes, improved the initially impaired hepatic hemodynamics and abnormal biochemical bile properties; it also normalized disturbed intestinal microflora.

Non-invasive hemolaserotherapy for patients presenting with rheumatoid arthritis

Sidorov V.D., Pershin S.B., Sidorov V.D., Pershin S.B.

Abstract

The possibility of non-invasive laser irradiation of the blood in the vasculature of the tympanic membrane was proved based on the foundational principles of evidence-based medicine taking into account physical and biophysical characteristics of low-intensity infrared laser radiation. Various aspects of its mechanism of action were elucidated, clinical efficiency evaluated, indications and contraindications for the use of the method in question are described. The data obtained indicate that non-invasive laser irradiation of the blood possesses immunomodulating potency, decreases intensity of the inflammatory process, manifestations of dysfunction of the immune system and severity of autoimmune aggression. Simultaneously, it potentiates the action of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents and cytostatics, neutralizes some of their adverse effects, and reduces to the minimum the risk of development of severe complications. The method is contraindicated to the patients treated with tableted glucocorticoid preparations. At the same time, it can be used to rapidly and effectively eliminate side effects of hormonal therapy and prevent the development of its complications. On the whole, the study showed that the method of non-invasive hemolaserotherapy possess all the positive properties of intravenous laser irradiation of the blood; it can be recommended as a simple and readily accessible physiotherapeutic modality for the treatment of patients presenting with rheumatoid arthritis.

Antipova I.I., Zaripova T.N., Smirnova I.N., Barabash L.V., Anichkina O.A., Antipova I.I., Zaripova T.N., Smirnova I.N., Barabash L.V., Anichkina O.A.

Abstract

Observation of 89 patients with bronchial asthma and concomitant hypertensive disease showed that the application of peloids and the use of iodine-bromine baths had the unidirectional therapeutic action manifested as the improvement of the clinical picture of both the main and concomitant diseases, positive changes in lipid metabolism, activity of the inflammatory process, and adaptive capabilities of the organism. The results of the study give reason to recommend inclusion of peloidotherapy and iodine-bromine baths in the combined treatment of patients presenting with bronchial asthma and concomitant hypertensive disease.

The use of EHF inductothermia for the treatment of patients presenting with arterial hypertension and concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus

Dadasheva N.g., Dadasheva N.K.

Abstract

EHF inductorthermia is considered to be one of the methods for non-medicamental control of arterial pressure. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the results of combined non-pharmacological treatment of patients with arterial hypertension and concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus. It included a total of 30 patients (17 men and 13 women) with the diagnosis of grade I-II arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus divided into two groups. Group I was comprised of 15 patients (7 women and 8 men) of the mean age 64.2±3.1 years given basal medicamental hypotensive and antidiabetic therapy. The patients of group 2 (n = 15, 16 women and 9 men, mean age 62.7±2.8 years) received medicamental treatment in combination with application of an EHF magnetic field by the cardial method. The study demonstrated a higher efficiency of the combined treatment compared with the medicamental therapy alone which gives reason to recommend EHF inductothermia for the treatment of patients presenting with arterial hypertension and concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Chukina E.A., Shchetkin V.A., Kungurtsev E.V., Mikhaylov I.P., Zheltov R.V., Chukina E.A., Shchetkin V.A., Kungurtsev E.V., Mikhailov I.P., Zheltov R.V.

Abstract

A differential approach to the treatment of patients presenting with deep venous thrombosis of the lower extremities is described. The combined use of physical factors and remedial gymnastics to stimulate the blood flow in the lower extremities of patients with mural thrombosis was shown to prevent the development of floating-type thrombosis and pulmonary artery embolism. Nevertheless, further studies are needed to elucidate effects of physical factors on different pathogenetic processes leading to thrombosis and to develop new methods of physiotherapy and remedial gymnastics for patients with this disease.

Abstract

This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of application of physiotherapeutic methods for the treatment of patients presenting with chronic sialadenitis based on the results of fast vital computed tomography of granulocytes from the peripheral blood. Positive dynamics of morphometric characteristics of living cells gave evidence in favour of inclusion of nivalin (galantamine hydrobromide, 2.5 mg) electrophoresis in the combined treatment of sialadenitis to accelerate the elimination of inflammatory symptoms and prevent exacerbation of the chronic process.

The application of nivalin-electrophoresis and multichannel electrostimulation for the treatment of patients presenting with post-inflammatory skin defects

Vasil'eva E.V., Lazarenko N.N., Gerasimenko M.Y., Khamidullin G.N., Vasilieva E.V., Lazarenko N.N., Gerasimenko M.Y., Khamidullin G.N.

Abstract

Taken together, nivalin electrophoresis of the hepatic projection, microcurrent treatment of the face as well as multichannel electrostimulation of the neck and the body were found to reduce the severity of inflammatory manifestations on the skin due to normalization of the composition of its autoflora in the affected regions and the reduced degree of cicatrical deformation of the surface skin layers with the aftereffects of acne. The proposed combined therapy was shown to activate lymphatic drainage and thereby improve the clinical efficiency of the treatment. Moreover, it promoted the normalization of altered characteristics of humoral and cellular immunity, optimization of the vegetative regulation, and the functional state of the gastrointestinal tract in the patients presenting with the papulo-pustulous form of moderately severe acne.

The potential of low-frequency magnetotherapy for the restoration of the function of endometrium in the extracorporeal fertilization program

Alieva K.U., Kuz'michev L.N., Smol'nikova V.Y., Ipatova M.V., Malanova T.B., Alieva K.U., Kuz'michev L.N., Smol'nikova V.Y., Ipatova M.V., Malanova T.B.

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the possibility of applying physiotherapeutic methods for the preparation of endometrium of the patients included in the extracorporeal fertilization program after previous unsuccessful attempts. It was shown that intensive low-frequency magnetotherapy and simultaneous treatment with a nitric oxide donator have a positive regulatory action on uterine hemodynamics and the state of endometrium thereby increasing the efficacy of in vitro fertilization and embryo implantation. It is emphasized that the application of either therapeutic modality in women with disturbances of the uterine blood flow during preparation for extracorporeal fertilization (in the absence of contraindications) must be strictly differentiated on an individual basis and needs to be monitored with the use of up-to-date diagnostic techniques.

Uyba V.V., Kotenko K.V., Orlova G.V., Uiba V.V., Kotenko K.V., Orlova G.V.

Abstract

The authors report results of the study designed to correct metabolic syndrome by the application of a travelling magnetic field in 120 obese patients undergoing regular prophylactic medical examination at the Stavropol Centre of General Medical (Family-Based) Practice. Optimization of the use and enhancement of the efficacy of physiotherapeutic factors for the correction of metabolic syndrome were achieved based on the specially developed scientifically sound neurotropic method including the application of a travelling magnetic field to the anterior abdominal wall in combination with the consumption of Essentuki mineral water and low-calorie diet. The data obtained suggest high therapeutic efficiency of the proposed method apparent as the reduction of body weight and improvement of various biochemical characteristics of carbohydrate metabolism. These observations provide a basis for the differential application of the non-medicamental programs depending on the severity of metabolic syndrome.

The application of physical factors for the treatment of coronary heart disease

Erokhina G.A., Erokhina G.A.

Abstract

The coronary heart disease affecting the heart muscular layer is directly related to the disturbance of the balance between the coronary blood flow and the metabolic requirements of myocardium. The physio- and balneotherapeitic procedures exert sedative, spasmolytic, and anticoagulant action, have analgesic effect (due to blockade of pain impulses), improve general and lipid metabolism, and stimulate the contractile function of myocardium. The physical factors intended for therapy of coronary heart disease are chosen taking into account the functional class of angina of effort. Electrophoresis, electric sleep, mesoencephalic modulation, electroanelgesia, alternating low-frequency magnetic fields, and laser irradiation are usually applied to treat aged patients. It is concluded that physiobalneotherapy may be used at all levels of specialized cardiological care (based at hospitals, rehabilitation departments, outpatient clinics, sanatoria, spa and health resort facilities, etc.) under thorough control of properly qualified specialists.
