OZONOTHERAPY: MICROHEMODYNAMICAL ASPECTS

Kulikov A.G.

Abstract

The laser Doppler flowmetric technique (LDF) was used to study microcirculation in the patients presenting with gastroduodenitis and ulcerative lesions in the stomach and duodenum, eczema, and diabetes mellitus complicated by diabetic angiopathy. Microcirculation in the patients with gastroduodenal pathology was studied in the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum during endoscopic examination. In the remaining patients, it was studied at the surface of the affected skin areas. The estimation of the influence of various ozonotherapeutic modalities on the microhemodynamic processes has demonstrated that ozone has beneficial effect on the main mechanisms controlling capillary blood flow by enhancing the role of active components of vasomotor fluctuations, correcting abnormal characteristics of dopplerograms, and increasing the microcirculation efficacy indices. These data suggest the possibility of introducing ozonotherapy in the combined treatment of the diseases associated with microcirculatory disturbances. An advantage of general and combined ozonotherapy over the local application of ozone has been demonstrated.

Shcheglov E.A., Naumova O.F.

Abstract

The present study was designed to estimate the results of the physiotherapeutic treatment of the patients presenting with chronic venous insufficiency and knee joint osteoarthrosis. The patients underwent low-intensity laser irradiation using a Shuttle-Combi apparatus and low-frequency magnetic therapy with the use of a Polus-101 apparatus. It was shown that the treatment resulted in the reduction of the Leken index. The number of patients suffering night-time pain during motion and at rest decreased from 14 to 7 and from 8 to 3 respectively. The severity of pain (estimated based on the visual analog scale) also decreased. The calf circumference at the level of the ankle joint was reduced. It is concluded that the proposed physiotherapeutic treatment results in the significant improvement of the clinical conditions of the patients presenting with chronic venous insufficiency and knee joint osteoarthrosis.

Chernyshev A.L., Maksimov V.A., Neronov V.A., Kulikov A.G.

Abstract

This study was designed to estimate the efficacy of the combined treatment of 20 patients presenting with viral infections of the liver including 108 ones with viral hepatitis C. General ozonotherapy was performed by intravenous administration of an ozonated physiological solution (3-5 mcg/ml). It was shown that the supplementation of the standard treatment by ozonotherapy improves tolerability of protracted administration of interferon-like preparations in the patients and significantly reduces the degree of disturbances of the biochemical blood characteristics. Simultaneously, this approach allowed to increase the number of patients with complete eradication of the virus by the end of therapy and achieve the appreciable correction of biliary insufficiency syndrome characteristic of these patients.

Sakharova E.V., Konova O.M., Polyakov S.D., Taibulatov N.I.

Abstract

In this article, we describe the application of interactive kinesitherapy with biofeedback during the course of rehabilitation of adolescents aged between 12 and 17 years presenting with postural defects. The positive outcome of this treatment is confirmed by the improvement of static endurance of basic muscle groups involved in the posture support and by the characteristics of the apparatus that can be used as a screening diagnostic tool for estimating dynamics of the patients’ conditions. It is concluded that the inclusion of the proposed system with an unstable platform and biofeedback in the combined rehabilitative treatment of adolescents presenting with postural defects enhances the motivational level of the patients and have positive influence on their psychoemotional status.

COMBINED PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC TREATMENT OF DESTRUCTIVE APPENDICITIS AND ITS COMPLICATIONS IN THE CHILDREN

Vasilieva M.F., Solovieva E.R.

Abstract

The possibilities of using physiotherapy for the treatment of the children with destructive appendicitis and its complications in the postoperative period are discussed. The effects of various physical factors applied with due regard for the severity of the disease are analysed based on the comparison of the results of laboratory and functional investigations in conjunction with the estimation of dynamics of clinical conditions. Special emphasis is laid on the application of electrostimulation, microwave therapy, magnetotherapy, and laserotherapy for the postoperative rehabilitative treatment. It was shown that normalization of the majority of the studied parameters was achieved by the end of the combined physiotherapeutic treatment in 86.6% of the patients compared with 39% in the control group that were treated without the application of the physical factors. It is concluded that the use of physiotherapeutic methods in the early rehabilitative period after destructive appendicitis promotes the recovery of the motor-evacuatory function of the intestines and relieves the inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity.

THE ROLE OF LASEROTHERAPY AND MAGNETOTHERAPY IN THE PREVENTION OF COMPLICATIONS AFTER INJECTION CONTOUR PLASTIC SURGERY ON THE FACIAL SOFT TISSUES

Karpova E.I., Gerasimenko M.Y.

Abstract

Contour plastic correction of the facial features is rather widely applied in modern reconstructive surgery to eliminate congenital and acquired defects and deformities as well as age-specific changes of the soft tissues or disproportions. However, positive outcomes of such interventions are not infrequently accompanied by undesirable complications. We conducted a prophylactic course of laserotherapy to prevent the development of side effects and complications in the early postoperative period. The patients were prescribed either magnetic therapy or laserotherapy depending on the indications. It was shown that the use of these treatments in different periods after surgery significantly reduced the risk of postoperative complications as confirmed by the results of the studies using the polarization-optical technique.

Turova E.A., Balaban E.I., Fadeeva N.I., Golovach A.V., Tenyaeva E.A.

Abstract

The results of the present study have demonstrated the efficacy of electrophoresis of a 2% procaine solution for the prevention of premature ageing. The electrophoresis was applied to the collar region by the generally accepted method. It was supplemented by galvanization as described by Shcherbak and subcutaneous administration of the 2% procaine solution at several points in the collar region. Control patients were given only subcutaneous injections of the physiological solution. The analysis of the results of the treatment showed significant advantages of the electrophoresis of the 2% procaine solution in terms of improvement of hemodynamic characteristics, correction of astheno-neurotic disturbances, and general well-being of the patients. Taken together, these observations suggest the reduction of biological age and retardation of premature ageing.

Pogorelova E.A.

Abstract

The present report is devoted to the estimation of the effectiveness of respiration of an artificial xenon-oxygen-helium gaseous mixture as a mode of treatment of 25 patients presenting with obliterative atherosclerosis of lower extremities. All the patients suffered the pathological process of different severity consistent with the IIa -IIIA stage disease. The study has shown that the respiration of the xenon-oxygen-helium gaseous mixture had positive effect on the changes in the peripheral blood vessels of the lower extremities. The most pronounced beneficial effects of the treatment included the disappearance of pain and numbness in the legs up to the improvement of intermittent claudication in certain patients. Simultaneously, the treatment resulted in the amelioration of the overall health status, normalization of sleep, and stabilization of blood pressure. It is concluded that aspiration of the artificial xenon-oxygen-helium gaseous mixture is an effective means for the prevention and treatment of obliterative atherosclerosis of lower extremities, especially at the initial stages of the disease.

ON THE PRIMARY MECHANISMS OF THE THERAPEUTIC ACTION OF LOW-INTENSITY LASER RADIATION

Moskvin S.V.

Abstract

A model of the primary mechanisms of therapeutic action of low-intensity laser radiation is considered. It is shown that the principal mechanisms triggering the response of a living organism to the action of laser radiation are the formation of a temperature gradient after absorption of the radiation energy and the subsequent release of Ca2+ from the intracellular depot pool resulting in the activation of the calcium-dependent processes, cell proliferation, vasodilation, anti-inflammatory processes, etc.

BIORESONANCE INFITATHERAPY

Markarov G.S.

Abstract

Infitatherapy is an efficacious method of bioresonance therapy based on the application of a pulsed low-frequency electromagnetic field (PLFEMF) for the treatment of a broad range of pathological conditions. The therapeutic effect of the magnetic field is realized through the optico-thalamo-hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal system by the correction of its functional state and the bioelectrical activity of the brain. Simultaneously, the treatment has the beneficial action on hemodynamics and microcirculation, exerts the regulatory influence on the characteristics of immunity and hormonal-dependent processes. The analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects are achieved in the case of the local application of the electrodes due to sensory inhibition and breaking the vicious circle of pain-inflammation-pain. Moreover, the proposed method has defibrosing effect. Due to the weak non-thermal action of PLFEMF and the availability of the portable equipment (along with the stationary one) for infitatherepy, it can be used for the bedside treatment and is suitable for the application in an intensive care unit.
