Along with the development of information technology and an increase in time spent in front of screens, the number of people suffering from this disease is steadily growing.</p> <p>The basis of treatment for dry eye syndrome is the use of “artificial tears” preparations, which are instilled into the conjunctival cavity to replenish moisture deficiency. But the effect of tear replacement therapy in case of dysfunction of the meibomian glands does not last long. In this regard, the use of physiotherapeutic methods for treating dry eye syndrome to prolong the effect of drug therapy for this pathology is of particular importance.</p> <p>Each of the methods of physiotherapeutic treatment of dry eye syndrome has its own unique mechanisms of action and indications for use. Physiotherapeutic methods are an effective tool in the treatment of dry eye syndrome, providing the opportunity to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from this common ophthalmic disease.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Актуальность вопросов лечения синдрома сухого глаза связана с широкой распространённостью данного заболевания. Наряду с развитием информационных технологий и увеличением времени, проводимого перед экранами устройств, число людей, страдающих от данного заболевания, неуклонно растёт.</p> <p>Основой терапии синдрома сухого глаза является использование препаратов «искусственной слезы», которые инстиллируют в конъюнктивальную полость с целью восполнения дефицита влаги, однако эффект слезозаместительной терапии при дисфункции мейбомиевых желёз не отличается высокой продолжительностью. В связи с этим особое значение приобретает применение физиотерапевтических методов лечения синдрома сухого глаза с целью пролонгации эффекта медикаментозной терапии.</p> <p>Каждый из методов физиотерапевтического лечения синдрома сухого глаза имеет свои уникальные механизмы воздействия и показания к применению.
